Who May Use Interlibrary Lending

Interlibrary Lending is conducted between libraries, not between library to individuals. TAMU Libraries loan materials to other libraries for their patrons use.

We Do Not Loan

Books housed in our Cushing Special Collection library
Books in poor condition
Books housed in Reserve section
Books in new books shelves
Bound periodical volumes (less than 5 years old)
Reference books
Non-print media, including films, videos, DVD, CD recordings (with the exception of GWLA libraries)

Loan Period

16 weeks. (No renewal)
All loans are subject to recall

Delivery

Articles are all delivered via Article Exchange or Odyssey
Loans are delivered by FEDEX Ground Service. Borrower may change service to 2nd Day or Overnight
by providing their FEDEX account number

Billing

OCLC IFM is the preferred method of payment
Invoices to non-IFM participants are sent monthly
We accept following credit cards: Master card, Visa, American Express
You may pay invoice online with your credit card
We also accept IFLA voucher for international libraries

Charges

No charge to Texas Libraries, GWLA and other specified reciprocal agreement libraries
Replacement fine varies
Loan or copy to other libraries is $15 IFM; $20 invoice; or 2.5 full IFLA vouchers
Rush fee is an additional $10
International delivery for loan is an additional $25 for postage unless the shipping charges exceed the $45 limit, then the borrowing library is responsible for the additional charges to send the international loan.

Response Time

All requests are searched the same day if received by 3:00 p.m. Every attempt will be made to mail books and scan articles within two working days of receipt of the request
